Data Processor – Clinton Marine SurveyAfter finishing my marine sciences education at Gothenburg University, I have spent the last years working within the marine sector, both abroad and home in Gothenburg, but lately at the Institute of Marine Research in Lysekil (part of SLU Aqua). There I was involved with several projects but has focused in particular on assessment of fishing regulations in marine protected areas. It won't come as a surprise if you know me, but sustainable use of the Oceans is an important issue to me.
I have experience from biological sampling and many other types of field work, but also from more office related work such as planning said field work, analyzing the collected data and writing reports. During my time at the Institute of Marine Research in Lysekil I analyzed ROV footage from different types of habitats along the Swedish west coast, including deep hard and soft seabeds. Some footage contained videos of such otherworldly creatures as the basket star Gorgon's head (Medusahuvud in Swedish), Google it!
As a Data processor at Clinton I hope to learn a lot about the marine environment and how we observe it with some of the most advanced equipment the market has to offer. I really enjoy working with data and especially to visualize it, which is exactly what we do here, so I am excited and hopeful that my future at Clinton will be full of good times and interesting work assignments.
