Scope of work
You will start your journey through a Buddy program where you will learn from experienced colleagues in the department. As a Hydrographic Data Processor, you will have the opportunity to either learn the fundamentals of processing MBES (Multibeam Echo Sounder) data from scratch or use your previous experiences to become a key player in our team. You will be working with MBES data in both 3D- and 2D-environment.
The role entails, but is not limited to:
- Monitor data quality by processing in accordance with project requirements
- Perform QC (Quality Control) checks and correct errors in MBES data
- Check and validate acceptance test results of bathymetrical and navigational equipment
- Process bathymetric data with precision and attention to details
- Provide reports and documentation to clients
- Collaborate with team members in different departments to stay updated on project progress
All data processing at Clinton is office-based, no offshore work is applicable for this position.
Who we are looking for
We are reaching out to you with experience from the marine survey industry, as well as you who are eager to enter the field. We believe that you are a fast learner and a team player with a flexible mindset. We are looking for team members who are interested in developing new ideas and takes initiative to get things done. You enjoy working both independently as well as in a team. The role suits someone who is used to work their way around a computer environment, have skills in data management and is good at learning new software quickly.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Marine Science, Geoscience or related scientific/technical area
- Professional proficiency level in English, spoken and written.
- EU citizenship or a valid EU work permit
Merits (not mandatory):
- Master's in Marine Science, Geoscience or related scientific/technical area
- Completed course in Practical Hydrography (Cat-B)
- Previous experience from hydrographic data processing (MBES)
- EIVA processing software
- GIS or QGIS
- Caris
- Previous experience from post-processing of positioning data (TerraPos/POSPac or equivalent)
- Swedish on a professional level is preferable but not a requirement
Location: Our office at Frihamnen 16B Gothenburg, Sweden
Working time: Fulltime, 40 hours a week
